If you are an Indo-Caribbean survivor of gender based violence residing in New York who is facing a crisis due to abuse, and you are in need of immediate financial support, you may be eligible for a small grant from our Emergency Fund. We are able to make small grants to individuals to protect their safety and the safety of their children.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, we are also providing cash assistance to women and gender nonbinary people facing financial insecurity due to COVID-related income loss. Priority is given to applicants who are not eligible for government relief.
As of December 1, 2020, Jahajee Sisters gave $40,000 in emergency COVID relief to mostly undocumented women who are essential workers.
Funds can support the cost of rent, food, baby items, child care, moving, temporary housing, and attorney's fees.
Please call 347. 201. 4931 or email JahajeeSisters@gmail.com to submit your request and begin the application process.
